Snow Day & Unemplyment

Well we got 9.5 inches here, and it is still snowing.

First I would like to Thank Mel for giving me his old snow blower, and second I would like to thank my neighbor Ken, for showing me how to unclog the fule line.

I have already used it twice today, before and after the plow came through.
I also really like my X-mass present from the In-Laws, they gave me a pair fo Russian Snow Boots, they have no laces you just slip them on, and the go almost to my knee. The boot are made of half an inch of felt and have rubber soles, and keep my feet toaty warm and are easy to get on and off.

Schools are ALL closed here, so noe Early Childhood classes for Damien today, but dacy care {CCC} is open, so the two oldest boys are there driving the teachers crazy instead of us. They did ask that it be a short day today, so I’ll pick them up by 4 (I am not heartless). Xavier is staying home with me and the grand parents.

Olya will be going into work in a hour or so as the travel times for her are listed at only +2 minuets.
Not sure I wkll be able to go to Jason and Jen’s tonight, but I am hopine the storm blows over by then.

Dad sent an email telling me that Milwaukee made national news with the snow storm, and that his high today will be 70 degrees. :-p

Today is also the first official day of Unemployment for me. :-( So I am filing today remotely (got to love the interent), and it turns out some of my information is still in the system from 5 years ago, so hopefully I can just update that rather than start from scratch.

Looks like they raised the maximum allowance per week, now it is up to $355.00, or about $1,000.00 a month after taxes. Better than nothing.

The company I am looking at geeting a job from (no name for privacy concern) seems to really want to hire me, both my would be boss and would be bosses boss, like, what they have read and heard so far (no inperson interview yet), but there is a hireing freeze, but they are hopeful that they can get me a job in February, however, even they say to keep looking because it is not 100%. In big companies, it never is, and this is not the time of year where lots of hiring gets done. So I am still looking.

Happy snow day (or snow less one) :-)

Musical Aptitude

Damien and Sergey like to sing, put them in a time out and they can while away the time singing ABCs, Spiderman, or Farmer in the Dell.

Sometimes they just like to sing, even if they are not in a time out, and it may even be something seasonal.

Grandma S. found this out first hand.

While helping get Damien ready for swim class, she took him in the girls locker room (location, location, location). Damien burst into song, singing Jingle Bells, with a big smile on his face. Accustics are very good in locker rooms, and Damien kept time with the music shaking his pienus and testicles. Well at least he was in a place where the proper audiance could be found in abundance.

Second Phone Interview went well

I was told that I’ll be recomended for the position, to be initially hired on as a contractor.

He did say that he liked what he heard, and that there will be another interview, all of which are good signs.

If I get hired, it won’t be until early January, but that is what I expected.

Also even if I don’t get the job offer initially there is still a chance I could get a job there early next year.

Now I have to find this guys word address so I can send him a Thank You note.

I sent him a new one page version of my resume, even though he already had my older two page resume. Then I asked him which he prefered. He said he used to be a recruiter, so he has seen many different types of resumes, and that they are both about the same. ON the plus side the new one help me to better track my skills and achivements, and to prep for an interview.
